Apprenticeship

As a member of the Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA) we are proud to offer apprenticeship opportunities within our business and each year we have around 4 vacancies based at our various locations in the UK.

The national apprenticeship programme is managed by the FLTA in partnership with the City of Bristol College, and as the programme is fully funded it’s free to you.

So why be an Engineer?

Well, you can become an expert in electrical and hydraulic systems, diesel and gas powered engines and much, much more. No longer a "spanners and oily rags" industry, as once trained you may regularly use laptop or palmtop computers to diagnose problems or fine-tune fork lift truck performance. Once qualified you have excellent career prospects.

Earn while you learn

The apprenticeship programme is an "earn while you learn" scheme, and you can expect to earn around £430.00 per month as well as receiving allowances from attending college. And what’s more there are no student loans or financial commitment to repay at the end of the training!

Training

So, whilst you will undergo short (two week courses) four times a year at either the City of Bristol College or another specialist college nearer your home, you can live and work locally at one of our depots. With excellent work prospects after completing the three-year apprenticeship your career can get off to a flying start.

Application form

If you are aged 16 – 19 years of age (on 1st September on the year you enrol) then you are eligible to apply. Please click on the link below where you will need to complete an application form. Typically applications need to be received by the end of May, although sometimes the scheme can take apprentices at other times of the year too.
