BA World Cargo

The world-famous flag carrier, responsible for transporting freight, mail and courier traffic to 200 destinations in over 80 countries, recently opened a specialist handling facility, named Premia, at its London Heathrow HQ.

The new £15m development forms a substantial part of BA World Cargo's long term investment into its premium products, including Prioritise, a product that carries freight of any weight across the carrier's global network; a high volume airmail service and Constant Climate, a temperature controlled product designed specifically for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

The Premia investment prompted a year-long review of operations and suppliers, resulting in the awarding of a prestigious contract to Rushlift.

The deal with Rushlift consists of 26 forklifts, including 21 AC powered Doosan four-wheel B18X's, one Doosan three-wheel B18T, two 3.5 tonnes compact chassis diesels, one 2.5 tonne diesel, and one 6.0 tonne electric counterbalance working across BAWC's core handling, secure and Premia divisions.
