CELEBRATING APPRENTICESHIP WEEK: HARVEY'S JOURNEY AT RUSHLIFT

February 13, 2025

As we celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, we continue to highlight our dedicated apprentices who are making significant strides in their careers. Today, we turn our attention to Harvey, who is in his final year of his apprenticeship at Rushlift. His journey has been one of continuous learning, growth and preparation for the next stage of his career.

Since our last conversation, Harvey has made remarkable progress. He has been entrusted with more independent work, a testament to the confidence his mentor, Hansel, has in his abilities. As he approaches his end-point assessment, he is focused on refining his skills and ensuring he is fully prepared for the final stretch of his apprentice.

With only a few months left before completing his apprenticeship, Harvey reflects on the support he has received in the workshop. The team has played a crucial role in training him as a painter, though he notes that the industry differs significantly from the car painting techniques taught in college. While this has been a challenging adjustment, his determination and hands-on experience at Rushlift have helped him adapt and grow into his role.

For those considering an apprenticeship, Harvey’s advice is clear “It’s a great way to learn a new skill without having to worry about student loans for university. Everyone is supportive of each other and always willing to lend a hand. Plus, learning new things on the job makes every day exciting.” His experience highlights the value of practical, real-world learning and the supportive environment that apprenticeships offer.

At Rushlift, we are incredibly proud of Harvey and all our apprentices who work hard every day to develop their skills and contribute to our industry. As National Apprenticeship Week continues, we celebrate their dedication and look forward to seeing them thrive in their careers.
