Why become an apprentice?

Learn while you earn

Earn a fair wage whist undergoing training and developing new skills. It is an alternative to University and you won’t have student loans to pay off at the end of the apprenticeship.

How much will it cost you?

The cost for an apprenticeship at Rushlift is free for you; all you need to pay for is your transport to and from work. All we ask for in return is that you have drive and enthusiasm to do well and work hard to learn the job.

How Long Is The Apprenticeship?

2-3 years (approximately)

(2 years for completion of the Intermediate
Apprenticeship followed by a further 1 years for
the Advanced Apprenticeship)

What Qualifications Do I Need?

• Must have GCSE grade 4 – 9 (A - C) in Maths
• Must have GCSE grade 4 – 9 (A - C) in English
• Must have GCSE grade 4 – 9 (A - C) in one other subject

Do I Have A Guaranteed Job After?

Yes you will be guaranteed a job afterward, as long as you qualify.

What Will I Learn?

• Electrical fault find on a wide range of material handling equipment
• Diagnostics and repairs to both diesel and gas engines
• Servicing a wide and varied range of equipment
• Diagnostics and repairs of hydraulic systems
• Stock control
• Diagnostics and repairs of transmission systems

What Qualifications Will I Earn?

Intermediate Apprenticeship (Year 1 & 2)
• IMIAL Level 2 Diploma in Lift Truck Maintenance & Repair (Competence)
• IMIAL Level 2 Diploma in Lift Truck Maintenance & Repair Principles (Knowledge – required to attend College for 10 weeks each year over a block programme)
• Functional Skill in Maths Level 1
• Functional Skill in English Level 1
• Functional Skill in ICT Level 1
• Award In Knowledge of Employee Rights and Responsibilities for the Automotive Sector

Advanced Apprenticeship (Year 3)
• IMIAL Level 3 Diploma in Lift Truck Maintenance & Repair (Competence)
• IMIAL Level 3 Diploma in Lift Truck Maintenance & Repair Principles (Knowledge – required to attend College for up to 12 weeks over a block programme)
• Functional Skill in Maths Level 2
• Functional Skill in English Level 2
• Functional Skill in ICT Level 2
• Award In Knowledge of Employee Rights and Responsibilities for the Automotive Sector

Qualifications are nationally recognised and awarded by IMI (Institute of Motor Industry).

What Hours Will I Be Working?

Monday – Friday 8.00am – 4.30pm
You will be required to be as flexible as possible to meet the needs of the business.
