The HMC 2.4 liter engine includes a silent chain timing belt that aids in the reduction of noise levels and helps to improve efficiency. An aluminium cylinder block and oil pan also help to reduce noise.

Additionally, fuel efficiency is increased thanks to the use of abrasion-resistant materials and specially designed ‘beehive type’ valve springs.
