MEET THE TEAM: THE GSE COMMERCIAL MANAGERS

At Rushlift exceptional customer service and experience is at the forefront of our priorities.  Among the number of professionals within Rushlift who constantly strive to provide the best possible customer service, we have our Commercial Managers, who are team that consistently set new standards in the field. 

Let’s get acquainted with the individuals who make up this exceptional team: Pat Mulroy, Harry Samsa and Dave Allan. We will start with a peek into their professional lives.  

 

Describe your job in three words: 

Pat: I would describe my role as varied, challenging and collaborative. 

Harry:  The Commercial Manager role is dynamic, fast-paced and evolving. 

Dave: My job role is all about maintaining customer service.  
 

How long have you worked at Rushlift? 

Pat: I have worked at Rushlift for just under 6 years. 

Harry:  I have worked at Rushlift for 2 years.  

Dave:  I have been at Rushlift for just over 1 year. 
 

What is the best thing about being part of the Rushlift team? 

Pat: The best thing about the Rushlift team is that is it just that. It is a genuine team. 

Harry: The greatest thing about being part of the Rushlift team is the togetherness and team spirit we have; we are able to take on any challenge. 

Dave:  The Rushlift team is full of passionate staff who are driven by providing a high-quality customer service.
 

How long have you worked in the sector/ industry? 

Pat: I have worked in the aviation industry for 29 years.  

Harry: I have worked in the aviation industry for 9 years. 

Dave: I have worked in the industry for around 15 years. 
 

Give a brief overview of your career journey/ experience. 

Pat: I trained as an Auto Electrician and worked for the RAC and London Buses.  Then as a GSE Engineer at Aer Lingus, Swissport and TCR, before transitioning into the Parts Manager for FMC and JBT EMEA. And I am now with Rushlift as one of the Commercial Managers. 

Harry: Prior to Rushlift I worked in finance for 7 years split across two aviation service providers, Menzies and ABM. Since moving to Rushlift, I have worked in my Commercial Manager role for 2 years now which is a lot broader than pure sales and I am gaining great knowledge and new experiences every day. 

Dave: I began in the Ground Handling sector as Dispatch and worked by way through various opportunities and experiences in the UK to roles in Ground Support Equipment, to now working for Rushlift who provides a service for the Ground Handling sector. I have loved every minute of it- aviation is in my bones! 

 

Now, let’s get to know them a bit more personally.  

What is your nickname amongst family or friends? 

Pat: That is un-printable!  

Harry: I’m known as H or Samsa. 

Dave: Nothing exciting, I’ve always been known as Dave.  
 

What is your favourite thing to eat? 

Pat: Everything! As long as it is cooked well.  

Harry: My mum’s roast dinner is the best! 

Dave: Lamb Kleftiko is just- no words! 
 

Who would you most like to swap places with for the day? 

Pat: I would love to swap places with Billy Connolly, back in his hay day.  

Harry: I’d love to be Rory Mcllroy for the day. 

Dave: I’s swap with Rory Mcllroy, on a winning the Ryder Cup final day.
 

What did you want to be when you grew up? 

Pat: I wanted to be either a Rugby or Football player. 

Harry: I wanted to be a Football player when I was younger. 

Dave: I wanted to a be Pilot or Navigator in the RAF. 
 

Tell us something we don’t know about you. 

Pat: I am a lifelong Leeds United supporter, Marching on together!  

Harry: I have a golden doodle named Callie who always keeps me on my toes. 

Dave: I worked as a lifeguard when I was younger and saved two young boys from drowning.
